Katie Littleton
Founder & CEO
I founded A LITTLE TONIC with the firm belief that the stories we see on screen have the power to broaden minds and change lives.
It’s never been more important to represent diverse cultures and perspectives on screen. It’s also never been so challenging to find innovative ways to cut-through the noise, and to connect with people in a meaningful way.
Engaging audiences with interesting stories is at the core of everything we do, and provides an essential tonic for your marketing mix.
As a former studio exec I’ve been fortunate to build lasting relationships with many international directors, producers and financiers; supporting them with their global distribution plans, and their festival & awards strategy. Recent clients have included Lionsgate, Starz, Anton Capital and Canal+, as well as Netflix and the streamers. I also consult for various creative agencies and run training workshops and panels for delegates at key industry events and festivals including Cannes Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, EFM Berlinale, Venice Film Festival and SXSW.
Prior to setting up my own company, I set up and oversaw the digital department at Studio Canal (Canal+ Vivendi Group) in their Paris office, after five years managing the digital team in London. During my time there I was responsible for bringing over 200 independent movies to audiences online. Titles included David Heyman’s box office hit PADDINGTON and his adaptation of THE SECRET GARDEN as well as BRIDGET JONES’ BABY and Aardman Animation’s SHAUN THE SHEEP franchise, as well as the Academy Award-winning TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY. Other notable projects included Alan Turing biopic THE IMITATION GAME, Armando Iannucci’s political satire IN THE LOOP, Studio Ghibli’s SPIRITED AWAY, Luca Guadagnino’s A BIGGER SPLASH, Jacques Audiard’s UN PROPHET and Marjane Satrapi’s PERSEPOLIS. As well as award-winning documentaries SEARCHING FOR SUGARMAN and THE BEATLES, 8 DAYS A WEEK and the critically acclaimed FARENHEIT 911.
After being selected by the The Guardian Newspaper as the winner of their digital Innovation Prize in partnership with UNICEF, I made my focus digital and interactive media and was honoured to represent the UK at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, selected from over 5000 candidates.
Prior to my career in the film industry I worked in theatre production and stage design alongside the production team for various musicals in London’s West End and The Samuel Beckett Theatre at Trinity College Dublin, where I graduated an MA in English Literature & Theatre.
I also briefly spent some time in Los Angeles writing jokes for 21st Century Fox’s animation series THE SIMPSONS … but that’s another story.
