Lost in Austin

Presented STUDIOCANAL’s international line up at South by South West (SXSW) in Austin Texas and was responsible for leading partnership discussions with key platforms including Google, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat to devise new and innovative ways to bring our movie IP to a broader audience.

Notable other Festival activations included the SHAUN THE SHEEP AR piece for Aardman Animations, a Facebook Mask for PADDINGTON, and the re-issue of TERMINATOR 2 which included a Facebook Live Stream from the Berlin Film Festival which included a demonstration of the T2 filter with Arnie himself! 

The TERMINATOR 2 festival premiere also featured James Cameron appearing via satellite to introduce the event and attracted over 43million viewers online.

It was rewarding to see our augmented reality ideas for PADDINGTON and SHAUN THE SHEEP showcased by the Instagram AR Team in competition with major franchise titles from UNIVERSAL, SONY, 21st CENTURY FOX 

As a result of our partnership negotiations STUDIOCANAL’S films were selected to showcase Google and Facebook’s new product in the Livestream, AR and VR space. This also generated additional ‘media-first’ coverage which boosted our profile for mainstream cinema audiences.
